Requesting a Sitter
When requesting a sitter, we ask that you give While You're Out, LLC a notice of at least 5 business days. Requests made with fewer than 5 days' notice are often difficult to fill. We do not, however, discourage last-minute requests. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, but remember that we are unable to make guarantees with any sitter requests.
Requests made after 6pm will be considered as requests made on the following day. All requests must be made using our online Sitter Request form.
Sitter Request End Times
When giving our agency an end time for a sitting job, we ask that you please respect that end time. We do understand that uncontrolled circumstances (e.g., traffic) might alter your return time. If you know you will be late, we also ask that you call the sitter to see if it is okay -OR- If you are not going to be home when you thought you would be and it is not under your control, we ask that you still call your Sitter to let her know.
 SATURDAY requests MUST BE MADE BY WEDNESDAY of that week.
For major sporting events, concerts, school holidays/breaks and New Year's Eve, please email your request at least ONE WEEK in advance.
If you have a Sitter preference, please try to email your request at least ONE WEEK in advance. We will always check with your preferred Sitters first, but we cannot guarantee that you will get that Sitter. Sitters may book out 1-3 weeks in advance for a Friday, Saturday, or sporting event.
Sitter Screening Process
All prospective sitters fill out our extensive Sitter Application, and the application is reviewed by the owner of While You're Out, LLC. If the application meets our qualifications, a preliminary phone interview is conducted. If satisfied with the preliminary phone interview, a personal interview follows. After the personal interview, we begin verification of personal and professional references, previous work experience, and child care references, as well as a criminal background check and Vehicle record check. We also require that all sitters have current auto insurance and provide documentation proving so. All sitters referred by While You're Out, LLC also must be infant and child CPR certified. Please keep in mind that all sitters are pre-interviewed and pre-screened by While You're Out, LLC prior to their first step into your home.
